This is one of the varieties of Oriental Acupressure massage technique of applying pressure to specific points of the body. Shiatsu massage is a Japanese inspired technique, where pressure is applied to "tsu-bo" (pressure points) to release muscles' tension, stress, and "life force". In Shiatsu pressure points are motor points on the face, neck and upper chest where the muscles are originated. During the massage technician follows the pattern of pressure points, pauses for 3-6 seconds on each point using light inward pressure, and then slides to the next point by lifting the pressure. This technique relieves muscles tension, reduces pain, relaxes the client, and provides the sense of well-being. This massage is performed with a highly concentrated serum. In 1907, a French dermatologist Doctor Jacquet introduced a facial massage technique that consisted of a gentle manual squeezing, twisting, and kneading of the skin. This technique is especially effective in the treatment of oily and acne-blemish skin. The technician captures both skin surface layer and the subcutaneous tissue and squeezes it in all directions, squeezing out the contents of the oil ducts. Pinches are alternated with light strokes and vibration. This massage technique helps to empty the oil ducts, soften sebum, and cleanse skin of impurities. Also it improves overall metabolism and stimulates lymph and blood circulation. The specific feature of this massage, that it is performed with talcum powder, instead of oil or lotion. This massage utilizes a Vacuum machine technique. While the intensity of the treatment adjusts to client it is still more vigorous massage technique then manual massage.
